NBET’s organizational structure is designed to support efficient electricity market operations through clearly defined leadership, governance, commercial, financial, legal, and operational functions.

Organizational Structure


The organizational structure provides a clear framework for decision-making, communication, and operational efficiency by outlining lines of authority and functional responsibilities within departments.

Board of Directors


The Board of Directors provides overall governance, strategic direction, and oversight of NBET’s activities. It ensures that the organization operates in accordance with its mandate and in the best interests of its stakeholders.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO)


The MD/CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and execution of NBET’s strategy and operations. The role ensures effective implementation of corporate objectives and accountability for organizational performance.

Origination, Contract Management and Administration (OCMA)


This OCMA department is the heart of NBET, it oversees the procurement of electricity, negotiation and administration of power purchase agreements, and management of contractual relationships with market participants. It ensures that power transactions are effectively planned, executed, and monitored.

Guarantee and Risk Management (GRM)


The Guarantee and Risk Management Department is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial, operational, and market risks. It also manages guarantees and credit support mechanisms that enhance confidence and stability within the electricity market.

Office of the
MD/CEO


The Office of the MD/CEO provides strategic support to the Managing Director/CEO by coordinating corporate planning, performance monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and organizational governance initiatives. It helps align departmental activities with NBET’s overall strategic objectives.

Corporate Services (CS)


The Corporate Services Department provides administrative and operational support to the organization. It manages human resources, information technology, facilities, logistics, and other essential services required for the efficient functioning of NBET.

Legal and
Compliance


The Legal and Compliance Department is headed by the General Counsel who is also the Company Secretary. The legal department ensures that NBET’s operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. It provides legal advisory services, manages corporate governance matters, and supports commercial transactions and regulatory engagements.

Finance and
Accounts


The Finance and Accounts Department is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and internal financial controls. It ensures prudent management of NBET’s financial resources and supports the organization’s financial sustainability. It is headed by the Chief financial Officer (CFO).
